Bedtime Prayer

Bedtime Prayer
On Saturday night, Zoe said this for her bedtime prayer, "God, thank you that Kelsey fell in the lake today."

Now you would think that's quite a mean thing to say, but it really wasn't! Once we hit the first of the upper lakes, I encouraged the girls to take their shoes off and soak their feet in the ice cold water. The top left picture shows them dipping their toes in the lake, but only after I gave them a three count. Nobody wanted to hold them in for any longer than a second or two.

Well, Kelsey got brave and stood on a rock that was several inches below the surface, but unfortunately took a wrong step and fell in up to her chest. She took the shock very well and we all congratulated her on being so brave and tough. Scott, being the caring dad he is, decided to share her pain and voluntarily offered to go in for a plunge. I could not be left out of the fun, so he and I did the dunk at the same time all the while the girls just giggled away!

That was the catalyst for a free for all swimming/dipping event. Scott went back in for a lap or so, and the girls all got wet up to their chests. Later that day we thanked Kelsey many times for falling in the water since there's no way we would have had so much fun if she hadn't.

  2. You bet it is. That is why the lake water was SO cold! You can see the snow much better in today's pictures.
