One of Megan's birthday presents was getting her ears pierced. She hadn't really been asking about it, but Tanya & I presented the idea, and after a little solitary deliberation, she came back and announced it would be a go.
First we enjoyed a Red Robin lunch with Nana, and then all ventured over to the mall for the big event. Megan waited patiently as another young girl got her ears pierced first. She got very nervous watching the procedure. When it was her time to sit in the chair, she immediately gripped both chair arms tightly. She tried to smile, but you could feel her inner angst.
Well, the piercing was a little traumatic, and when it was over, Megan was biting her lower lip to hold back a few tears. Thankfully, it didn't take more than 60 seconds for the pain to subside and she could see in the mirror the beautiful earrings she had picked out. They were her December birthstone (blue/green).
It's a little unnerving to put your daughters well-being into the hands to two teenagers at Claire's, but they were very friendly and did a great job. Oh, and I have a little more to say about Claire's tomorrow...
Megan was a trooper - but I'am even more proud of Woody, he made it through Claires then American Girl and emerged with all his masculanity in tack.
ReplyDeleteAt least they did a double gun. It's way better to get it over with at once!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful, Megan!
Wow, I had to wait until I was 13 to get pierced. :) Good job Megan! And that whole double gun thing is a great idea...not the way mine was done, glad she had better luck.
