Megan had her second chance at playing goalie this weekend. She was stellar, but so was the other team. Her team worked very hard and raised their game to match an extremely talented opponent, but they were relentless and piled on the goals. The game was quite physical for 7 year old girls. As the sole referee, I had to award my first ever indirect kick after someone got shoved to the ground. Tanya got this nice action shot of a brave Katie sacrificing her body as a one girl "wall".

ReplyDeleteI was very impressed at how hard these really girly girls played. Megan was a perfect goalie and Katie was "on fire" throughout the game. If they keep this up I could see them getting scholarships for college.
