The Wildlife Experience....

The Wildlife Experience....
Cheyenne was relocated to his new home in our staircase. There he met up with George, the mountain goat. We were planning on keeping Cheyenne over the fireplace through the holidays, but we got thinking about the staircase idea and it just took off from there.

We now call this part of our house "The Wildlife Experience" in honor of the museum we frequent that's just a few miles away.

Back to George...since you probably didn't realize we had yet another mountable animal in the house. I don't know the full story behind George, other than Tanya's dad bagged him almost 30-40 years ago. I became attached to him because I've seen several mountain goats in the Rockies and this guy has some character.

PS: The attempt to accessorize the Wildlife Experience was all me...stealing things from around the house. Tanya wasn't thrilled about the idea of George making an appearance, but don't you think I create a nice "outdoorsy" scene?

  1. You know I'm going to be a fan - George lost his life in the British Colombia mountains in June of 1966. We were married in July of '66 and while we were on my honeymoon, George showed up. Grandpa and Grandma were staying at our apartment in Santa Barbara so they put George in our bed with a blue lei around his neck and covers pulled up to his ears. He is the first trophy for Galen, even before his trophy wife - ha ha. I think it looks lovely - TL perhaps a bark candle from pottery barn between the two pictures.

  3. HAHA. That looks awesome. Woody, when are you going to bag a duck from your backyard pond to add to the mix?
