Heaton Bay

Our second camping trip for the summer is in the books. Heaton Bay campground is situated on Lake Dillon. Aside from being close to I-70 and hearing distant traffic noise, we really liked it there.


A cool feature about this campground is that a bike path that skirts the lake and connects Dillon, Frisco, Breckenridge, Copper Mtn and Vail runs right through the campground. More about this bike path tomorrow...


Our campsite had sweet views of two 14ers (Grays & Torreys Peak) and was a short walk to the water. From the above shot, you can barely see that the Superman fishing pole came out again and was a big hit.
