As I mentioned on Monday, we ventured down to the Garden of the Gods on Saturday. It was a warm day and we were in the mood to do some exploring. We had a great time for the first 30 seconds. After that Zoe had a meltdown and screamed her piercing scream for a good 10 minutes because we wouldn't carry her. At that point it became a matter of wills and we refused to lose this battle.
Eventually, she settled down and was ready to have some fun. We watched some rock climbers scale some impressive rock faces and then thought we'd let our little rock climbers give it a go.
That is one of the things about parenting thats the toughest - saying no and then sticking to it - putting up with that 10 minutes just means you won't have to put up with it 100 more times - good for you!! Thats your Mom talking - now heres Nana - ohhhh pooooor Zooooooe. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was quite embarrassing due to the fact that there were a lot of people there...and her scream reverberated off all the rocks. We are glad we stuck to our plan...although it was very tempting to just pick her up and be done with it.
