It is coming up on three years since Tanya & I have gotten away for two nights alone. That is far too long and I'm pleased to say that changed this weekend. We had the privilege of getting away for a weekend of skiing up at Copper Mountain. We coordinated a kidswap with the Craig's where each couple will get the chance for a ski weekend while the other watches the kids! Megan & Zoe were quite excited about their sleepover at the David & Addie's house and even more excited that they'll be doing the same at our house soon.
The weather & conditions were perfect. We don't ski much, so our expectations were easily met. Copper Mountain has a thing where you can buy a "Four Pass" at the beginning of the ski season for $99. With the rising cost of lift tickets, $25 a day is quite nice and the Four Pass encourages you to make the 1.5 hour trip at least four times during the season. We're quite thrilled that we have two more days left.
The scorecard at the end of Day One: 5 hours skied. 2 big smiles. 0 falls. Too many sore muscles to count.
