Each holiday spent in Santa Barbara always included a family walk on the beach. There's not many places where you can enjoy a beach walk on Thanksgiving or Christmas. After growing up in the chilly Northeast, the walks felt a little weird around the holidays, but I got used to them quickly. While we're on the topic of the weirdness of celebrating the holidays in warm weather...it was also a little weird to see Christmas lights wrapped around palm trees. But...70 degrees in January? Ummm...that was nice.
This photo was taken back in the day when we would request our pictures on a floppy disk as we took the film in to get developed. We thought we were so high-tech then! I'm pretty sure I didn't know what a megapixel was in '99.
