Lil' Pumpkin...

Lil' Pumpkin...
I'm sure it was a farmer who had the original idea of marketing pumpkins as the staple of Fall decor. Everyone wants one...and is willing to pay good money for a big one to carve to their hearts delight and set aflame for all to see. It's a funny tradition if you ask me, but I throw down my money every year just like everyone else.

On Sunday afternoon, I took the girls to the largest pumpkin patch that I've ever seen. The ground was speckeled orange as far as the eye could see. We ventured in and noticed that the patch had been quite picked over from the weekend crowds. So after marveling at how deformed some of them were, I ushered the kids over to the gourd patch and they each got to pick one out. That's probably not going to fly for many more years.
