While the kids were away...

With the girls at camp, we took advantage of our weekend alone and went camping at Lake Dillion.  I've always wanted to try mountain biking at Copper Mtn.  It seemed like a fun and relatively easy thing to do.  The chair lift takes you and your bike to the top of the mountain and all you have to do is cruise down, right?  Wrong.  What looked like a smooth path from above, was actually really bumpy when on your bike.  By the end of two rides down the mountain, my arms had had it.  In fact, they were done for the rest of the day, and were utterly useless until the next morning.  We had a great time though.  Next time I will come prepared with bike gloves and a real mountain bike, and maybe some Tylenol.

The next day we went for what Woody called "a little hike".  Note to self, clarify what Woody means by "little" next time you head out on the trail.  It may have been short in miles, but it was huge in altitude gain.  I think the whole thing was straight up.  We made it and had lunch at the top with a cute chipmunk.  The beautiful views made the trek worth wile.

After lunch at our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Frisco, we went to Vail for the day. We walked around the farmers market, sat on a rock and sunk our feet in the river, and took in the beauty of their flowers
