Happy Dad's Day!

Father's day stirs many emotions in most of us.  Some sad, missing loved ones that have already gone and some grateful for the dad's still with us.  Although I wish my dad was here to celebrate with, I was so thankful to be able to celebrate Woody and the amazing dad that he is.

We started off the day watching Woody sing in the men's choir at church, which was a real treat!  Those guys can really belt it out!  Then the girls treated him to scavenger hunts and a plethora of homemade cards and artwork.  Later that afternoon we headed over to a lovely park with Woody's cousins family for a bbq and some softball.

As has become tradition, I interviewed the girls separately and asked them the following questions about their dad.  Here's what they said...

Mom: What is your favorite activity to do with Dad?

Zoe: Go to the park and play catch.

Megan: Softball.

Mom: What is your favorite thing about going out to breakfast with Dad?

Zoe: I get to go wherever I want.

Megan: Having chocolate chips in my pancakes.

Mom: What does Dad do for work all day?

Zoe: Work on his computer.

Megan: Fixes computers and plays on his phone.

Mom: What animal is Dad most like?

Zoe: Cheetah, because he is fast.

Megan: Mountain goat, because he runs up cliffs.

Mom: What does Dad like to do for fun?

Zoe: Play Apples to Apples.

Megan: Run.

Mom: If you had all the money in the world and could buy Dad something, what would it be?

Zoe: Chocolate Labrador Retriever.

Megan: The store of Boulder Running Gear.

Mom: What are you thankful for about Dad?

Zoe: He gets money for us at work.

Megan: That he gets money for us to get food and let’s us watch Little House on the Prarie shows.

Mom: What do you do that makes Dad happy?

Zoe: Be nice to Megan.

Megan: Give him foot rubs.

Mom: What do you do that makes Dad sad?

Zoe: Be mean to Megan.

Megan: When I put the amount of milk I have everyday in my cereal. He thinks its too much but it isn’t.

Mom: If you had to pick one word to describe Dad, what would it be?

Zoe: Courageous.

Megan: Couragous, because he runs up a lot of freaky things.

Mom: Why do you love Dad?

Zoe: Because he let’s me wrestle with him.

Megan: Because he takes good care of me.

Happy Father's Day Woody, you are adored and loved.

  3. She would like many more dogs. There is no limit in Zoe's mind. She has told us many times that what she looks forward to most about growing up and not living at home - is that she can have as many dogs as she wants.
