When we moved to our house a few years back, we knew living near a pond might have some drawbacks. We thought for sure we'd have to deal with bugs and funky smells. Thankfully, that has never been an issue, and we love all the ducks, blackbirds...and even a few geese.
A few days ago, two pairs of geese have arrived and there has been constant commotion as they fight over who claims the pond as their territory. It's quite obnoxious to see them honking away and chasing each other around the water.
For the last two mornings, they have simply crossed the line. One pair has flown up to our deck and sat there honking at the other pair down below. The pillars they stand on are about 10 feet from our bedroom window! And they start their shenanigans before 6:00 AM!
Tanya got out there this morning with her phone and tried to catch a video of her attempt at scaring them away. They wouldn't budge. She clapped, stomped her feet, made hissing sounds...all to no avail. It was not until our secret weapon came flying through the door that those foul fowl flew away. Watch it all below!
Did you notice once the geese hit the water, one of the other ones shot at them from the left in attack mode!
WOW! He didn't even bark. I think geese can be mean.
