Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day
Mother's Day is on Sunday and it's time for our annual Megan & Zoe interviews. In order to achieve unique answers, they each answered the questions alone with me.

Dad: What is your favorite activity to do with Mom?

Zoe: Go out for lunch to Rubios.
Megan: Go to a park.

Dad: What is your favorite thing Mom makes for you to eat?

Zoe: Pancakes with sprinkles!
Megan: Sweet stuff like the Rice Krispie treat eggs we had at Easter.

Dad: What does Mom do for work all day?

Zoe: Work. Boring computer work. She also makes us lunch.
Megan: Goes on runs. She likes to shop. Then she drives us to school sometimes and picks us up.

Dad: What animal is Mom most like?

Zoe: A polar bear. Because it's her favorite animal.
Megan: A dog. Because they're furry, cute, and I love them.

Dad: What does Mom like to do for fun?

Zoe: Go out to her favorite restaurant. Clean the windows.
Megan: She likes to read a lot. She probably likes to bake. I know she likes to run.

Dad: What part of Mom’s body do you think is the most beautiful? Why?

Zoe: Her heart. Because it's red.
Megan: Her eyes. Because they're pretty.

Dad: If you had all the money in the world and could buy Mom something, what would it be?

Zoe: Some jeans. A new computer. And a cat and dog.
Megan: A new car. Because the one she has right now makes weird noises. I'd get her a new van.

Dad: What are you thankful for about Mom?

Zoe: Because God made her.
Megan: Because she gives me dinner and she cares for me.

Dad: What do you do that makes Mom happy?

Zoe: Oh easy. Tell her jokes!
Megan: Be nice to her. Help her cook.

Dad: What do you do that makes Mom sad?

Zoe: -she couldn't think of single thing!-
Megan: Be mean to Zoe.

Dad: If you had to pick one word to describe Mom, what would it be?

Zoe: Good!
Megan: Pretty!

Dad: Why do you love Mom?

Zoe: Because she cleans up our room...sometimes.
Megan: Because she loves me.

It's funny for me to watch the girls think through their answers. For most of the questions, you can tell they clearly don't think about such things at all. I know it's tough for any 8 & 6 year old to grasp appreciation and thankfulness...heck, it's hard for most adults! The one thing that comes shining through is that the girls know they are loved and well cared for. What a gift Tanya gives them day in and day out. Security. Love. Peace. Consistency. Structure. Fun. Creativity. These are some of foundational elements in the girls lives and Tanya does an phenomenal job nurturing them.

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there!
