Our Sweetheart Night

Our Sweetheart Night
The annual sweetheart ball tradition continued in 2011...minus the "ball" part. All the dads agreed to skip the HR ball this year in lieu of a special downtown Denver date night with our sweeties. We met for dinner at Maggiano's and then rode the 16th street mall shuttle down to Market St. in order to surprise the girls with what is supposed to be in the background of the photo above. A horse & carriage ride. Yes, I had arranged to have a horse & carriage pick up the four dads and five girls for a tour of the big city. Well, it seems I missed their call the night before telling me the roads were too slushy, so they wouldn't be providing service. Thankfully, the dads and girls were very gracious and dinner had provided enough fun for one special night.

During dinner, we asked all the girls promise that our sweetheart night tradition would continue even if the day came when going on a date with dad doesn't sound so appealing. They answered "yes" and we're all going to hold them to that promise!

  1. Dates with Dad are ALWAYS appealing! : ) What a great tradition! Truly, you are blessing those girls more than you know. They will expcect nothing less from their future non-Dad dates and that is how it should be. My sister and I were blessed by a date with our dad just this past Christmas - and we're in our 30s!
