Scooters Again...

Scooters Again...
Ski season has started a little earlier for us this year. Our first experience last February with Copper's three week Scooters program was so good that we decided to put both girls in it starting last Saturday. Zoe's first day was a mixed bag. Her highlight was when we took her on a chairlift run at the end of the day. We're hoping that her second class is where things start to click.

Megan picked right up where she left off last year. Her class started on the lift right away and she's learning how to keep her skis like "french fries" and not a constant pizza wedge. Cousins Katie & Andrew are also doing Scooters, so it's really fun for our girls to be able to ski with them.

We left to head home at 3:45 p.m. and instantly met heavy traffic. We passed a sign that said "50 minutes to the tunnel". It should normally take about 20 minutes to get from Dillon up to the Eisenhower tunnel. Can you guess how long it actually took? Four hours! We finally entered the tunnel at 7:45! CDOT was performing bottleneck control at the tunnel due to light snow and heavy traffic. I'm thinking there must have been a better solution available!

Since we hadn't planned for such a situation, we had moments where we started thinking about how we were going to survive for the night on a bag of pretzel rods & a bottle of water. Thankfully the girls never needed to go to the bathroom!
