Big News!
After five long months of missing Lucy and having a dogless home, we've decided we're ready for another pooch. What you see above is our one week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (is that a mouthful or what?). He's still got about 8 weeks to hang out with his mom & siblings before we can get him, but we couldn't be more excited about the prospect of having a little four legged friend romping around the house.

When I say "little", I mean he'll always be little. Yes, for many practical reasons, we're going with a smaller dog. A CKCS tops out around 13-18 pounds. A lap dog he will be. Fortunately for this breed, small doesn't translate into a yippy. At least, that is what we've been lead to believe. The more I've learned about CKCS's, the more I realized this is going to be a good match for the stage of life we're in.

The most important factor in this new dog equation is that there will be another male influence in the house. Yes, I'll finally have some support despite still being outnumbered.

Megan & Zoe are ecstatic. Megan has already started a "dog names" list that is about 10 deep. We'll announce the name once we've decided. If we get updated pictures over the next few weeks, we'll be sure to post them.

Here's a cool video I found about the CKCS breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
