10 miles!

10 miles!
She did it! Tanya's 10 mile training run is done and she's definitely ready for the half marathon. She even said she could have kept going! Who is this lady? Who kidnapped my wife and replaced her with this endurance runner?!? I would need a few more fingers and toes if I were to try and count how many times Tanya has told me she detests running. Funny, huh?

She was out the door around 7:55 am, and we gave her about a one hour head start before we hopped in the car to surprise her along the course. We aimed for the section of the course that was about 3 miles of uphill running. We first drove by her around mile 6 honking the horn and ringing a cowbell out the window.

At mile 7, we setup our cheering location. This run of Tanya's was a training exercise for us spectators as well. We need to bring our "A" game on race day! Mile 7 was at the top of one incline and the start of the steepest hill. Tanya came chugging up the path and both girls just couldn't contain their excitement. They ran to meet her and jogged back with her hootin' & hollering along the way. Megan is running while tooting on a train whistle! Classic.

Megan's sign was the best! Here's what it says:

"Go! Mom! Go!"
"Wo Ho This is fun."
"I like this. O ya!"
"Holy Gwackamoly!"

Three weeks til race day! Great job T!!
