John Denver Tribute

Last Thursday, we took in one of the many free outdoor concerts this summer. This one was super special. Joining us were Steve, Jennifer, Andy & Katie!! They just moved to HR and it was awesome to just "hang out"!


The concert featured Ron Rich. I had never heard of him before, but the guy plays John Denver covers like none other. If you had heard him, you'd think it was John back from the dead.


The park was as packed out as I've ever seen it. Could it be that the singing of "Rocky Mountain High" with the real Rockies as a backdrop was a big draw for John Denver fans? Katie & Zoe appear to be big JD fans as they spent most of their time dancing together right up in front.


Well, soon after the concert started, some dark clouds started to roll over those Rockies. Sure enough, a few of them passed overhead and dumped a generous amount of rain. Believe it or not, there are 4 kids under that blanket in the picture above. The amazing part of the story is that come rain or shine, no one left the concert and Ron just kept on playing our favorites while the crowd sang along to Thank God I'm a Country Boy, Take Me Home Country Roads, Grandma's Feather Bed, and more!
