Spillway Campground

Spillway Campground
We just returned from our first camping outing of 2009. We went up to the Elevenmile Canyon. This campground was very remote. We had to make our way down this 9 mile dirt road that was like driving on a washboard for 35 minutes. When we arrived, we said the next time we drive on that road will be when we leave.

Once we made it to Spillway...we never had a desire to leave. Our campsite was huge & private & loaded with boulders for climbing. In fact the entire canyon was rock & boulders. You'll see what I mean as we post pictures & stories the rest of this week.

Camping this weekend reminded me of exactly why I like it so much. As I told Tanya on Saturday, I feel like I enter a technology & culture detox unit. No cell phone service, internet, email, newspapers, tv, Wii, breaking news stories...and I don't miss any of it! The whole experience leaves me longing for the next time I can detox!

  1. Did the road seem shorter going out? It usually does.

  2. Tanya, your dad would have been proud of this picture, it would certainly be on the bulletin board.
