When the dads are in charge...

When the dads are in charge...
...there's a policy of "See no evil, Hear no evil & Speak no evil". Let me explain. James & I decided to take our girls out to the Red Bull Soapbox Races on Saturday. They were being held up at Red Rocks and it sounded like a perfect activity for kids. Well around 25,000 other people thought the same thing. We got within a few miles of the park before we got snarled in traffic. After sitting in the car with three hungry girls for an hour past their normal lunchtime, we decided to bail on the soapbox races and head to Deer Creek Canyon instead.

Once there we had a picnic lunch followed by a cool hike up the canyon. The girls & dads had a blast.

As you know, dads just don't do things as well as moms do. We try, but the kids can pick up on all the subtle things we seem to forget...like healthy food, washing dirty hands, warm jackets in case it gets windy and cold, potty breaks, sunscreen...you get the point! Thus we have policy well demonstrated above! Everyone seems to have a fantastic time when Mom never finds out about how Dad is fairly incompetent without her!

  1. looks like "see no evil" got cold and is wearing Dads sweatshirt. Yes Dads are different and I can remember hanging out with Dad was always so much fun.
