Argh!

Last post from our trip. For those that have been to Kauai, you probably know exactly where I'm going to go with it.


The roosters on the island are ridiculous, not to mention...EVERYWHERE. Someone at our hotel said there were three roosters for every person. Apparently the story goes...that many, many years ago there was a hurricane that broke the noisy birds free from their coops and the rest was history.


You know what roosters do at daybreak? Well, the Kauai roosters are a bit different. Daybreak to them can mean all hours of the day. One morning we were awoken at 2:50am by one fine bird outside our room.


After a very poor night of sleep our first night...we noticed this funny looking contraption on our dresser. What a discovery! The owners of our condo had purchased what we called the "Sleep Machine". It is actually called a "Sound Screen". It was a white noise maker and was simply amazing! One flick of the switch and the whooshing sound drowned out every noise! No more cock-a-doodle-doos!


I don't recommend products all that often, but if you're a light sleeper or have trouble in new environments, click on the link as this might just be the best $50 you spend. I will say that one should never go to Kauai without one!
