So if the Discovery Channel can have "Shark Week", we here at Megzo have decided that we're going to have "Lightning Week".
The story behind this series of photos is that I finally figured out how to change the settings on our camera to be able to leave the shutter open for long periods of time for effective night photos.
The website I gleaned this knowledge off of also explained how to take good photos of lightning.
Last Sunday night, we had an unusual storm come through late in the evening. I attempted a few shots around 10pm. Went to bed at 10:30...but couldn't fall asleep because the flashes of light were so bright and frequent. I finally gave up around 11:15 and got the camera out again.
