I'm still a....
We just got back from a great week in New Hampshire visiting my family. You will hear more about our week over the days to come. Here's a timeline of our final few hours and return trip home:

Sat. 8/18

10:30pm(EST) - Go to bed feeling great about our week.

Sun. 8/19

3:15am - My cell phone goes off. Thanks for the call Orbitz! Their automated system felt it was important to notify me that our flight's departure was "on time".

4:30am - The alarm goes off to get ready to leave for our 6:15am flight.

5:00am - Thanks Chris for the ride to the airport!

5:15am - The drama starts with the US Airways ticketing people as they can't find our reservation.

5:50am - We're finally issued boarding passes with our individual seats scattered all throughout the plane.

6:15am - Make it through security and squeak onto the plane. A very nice flight attendant asks people to move so each of us could sit with a girl.

11:15am (mtn. time) - arrive in Denver after a fairly uneventful set of flights. For those that have traveled with young kids, even "uneventful" flights can be exhausting.

11:45am - I find myself standing in the US Airways baggage office reporting one lost suitcase.

12:00pm - We take our remaining baggage and venture outside to catch a shuttle bus to our car. The fresh air felt great and we were excited to almost be done with our travels.

12:02pm - WHAM! Megan walks into a pole! Not a round pole. No, it had to be a square pole. Megan is now flat on her back on the sidewalk and the large gash on her forehead starts sending blood streaming down her face! Yes, she is screaming bloody murder.

12:10pm - After controlling the bleeding a bit, we decide to get on the bus and beeline it to our car. The great bus driver gave us an ice pack and small bandaids to hold the cut together. The bleeding stops. We gave the nice bus driver a nice tip.

12:35pm - We pull into Wendy's because Megan tells us that a "Frosty" would make her boo-boo feel better. Hmmmm...is she feeling better or what??

1:10pm - We swing by our house for Zoe and I to hop out while Tanya takes Megan to Urgent Care.

2:45pm - They arrive back home. Megan is sporting seven stitches!

Are we ready for another vacation?!? You better believe it!

  1. I'm beginning to be an "over-commenter" here, but now Megan and I are going to have one more thing in common besides our December birthdays! Lovely forehead scars! Us and Harry Potter. :)

  3. Poor Megan! Talk about your flashbacks...

What a nightmare. Sorry guys. :(

Not only is that that cut the same size, but it is exactly in the same spot that Katie bonked herself! Kinda eerie!
