Just two weeks ago, we announced that we had found our favorite campground, Stillwater Campground on Lake Granby. Well, Stillwater's short reign is over as Baby Doe Campground on Turquoise Lake near Leadville has dethroned it.
This weekend we had a family camping trip to Baby Doe. This was the spectacular view of Mt. Massive (pretty sweet name for a 14er) that we had about 30 feet from our campsite. Mt. Massive and it's neighbor, Mt. Elbert (pretty nerdy name for a 14er), are the two tallest peaks in CO. In fact, they are the 2nd and 3rd tallest peaks in the 48 contiguous states.
Once again, you will being hearing about our adventures this week. Sorry if hearing about our camping trips are boring, but it's summertime and this is what we love to do! Although waking up to a 1/2 inch of ice in Lucy's water bowl on Saturday morning sure didn't make us feel like it was summertime!
