St. Patty's Day

St. Patty's Day
I can't remember a time where we have celebrated St. Patrick's Day as much as we did this year. The day began with the family dressing in all green and heading downtown. Apparently, Denver's St. Patty's Day parade is the largest of the year.

It's true. I was surprised at how many people were lining the streets. The best we could do was finding a spot in the fourth row of people off the sidewalk. With the girls on our shoulders, they didn't miss a thing. The parade featured all we had looked forward to....Bagpipes, Big Floats, Riverdance-like Dancers & lots of Irish Music.

The day ended with a St. Patty's Day feast with the Heldt's down in Castle Rock. Rachel had whipped up a tasty Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner. The meal was delicious! The funny thing was that when Tanya found out that Corned Beef was the main course, she admitted that she thought it was going to be meatloaf with corn mixed in!

  2. We haved shared Tanya's perception of the meal with several people. The best part is that is exactly what kids do when they come across something new. So now you can relate better when Megan or Zoe makes an assumption about something based on the name.
