Megan & Zoe have been listening to the Curious George CD featuring Jack Johnson for many months now. They've also read several of the books. But, prior to Saturday night, they had not seen the movie.
One of the highlights of our weekend was to have a Curious George Party! The movie was great, the popcorn was buttery and the girls loved every moment of it.
As I sat on the floor watching it with them, I started wondering if they (more so Megan) got the storyline, or if she was just watching it mindlessly. Several times she would burst out in laughter, but then other times...when I thought for sure she'd laugh...she just sat there quietly.
So, I started asking her questions during the movie to see if she understood what was happening. I got a few responses of blank stares. Finally, she followed up one of my questions with a blunt, 'Daddy, I'm just trying to watch the movie.' Boy, did that put me in my place. I then shut up and let her finish watching it in peace.
I want to be there right in between them! Those weekends without Mommy sound even better than the weekends with Mommy! How could that be? Some Daddy's have a knack for a different kind of fun -
ReplyDeletethere is Daddy fun and then there is Mommy fun. But its all fun! The extra buttery popcorn - now thats Daddy fun! Sitting on the cushions so the leather sofa stays nice - thats Daddy wanting Mommy to have fun too.
