For three and a half years, we've avoided a trip to the ER with our kids. Some of our friends haven't been so lucky.
Well, our number came up the day we were leaving for SB. That morning, Megan was trying to reach something on the bathroom counter. Instead of using the stool to reach it, she stepped on a ceramic knob which shattered under her weight. She fell and her knee and the new sharp edge did battle. The edge won.
With a deep gash in her knee, Megan was a total trooper and sat calmly eating M&Ms as Tanya called our pediatrician. Tanya took her in, and three stitches later, they were back home again.
Wow, that is a long time to avoid that place. We were home six hours before our first trip. Hopefully it will be our last too.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry Megan hurt herself! Fortunately none of our kids have faced a trip to the ER, but with two very active boys I'm sure our time is coming!
