The pond at Alice Keck Park is filled with the most gigantic koi fish, hundreds of turtles & oh, just a few lilies.
After having dinner at the McLeans on Monday night, we drove home listening to Megan sing herself to sleep in the backseat. We stayed there pretty late, so she was extra tired and extra cute in her song. Here’s the only part I could remember verbatim…
‘Hush little baby, don’t say a word. Mommy’s gonna buy you a mockingbird. And if that mockingbird don’t sing, Mommy’s gonna buy you a Grover thing. And if that Grover thing don’t sing, Mommy’s gonna buy you a billy goat. And if that billy goat can’t walk, Mommy’s gonna buy you a diamond ring.’
And on and on it went. I wish I could have recorded it for you. It was soft and sweet and next thing we knew the singing stopped and her eyes closed.
