Family Day

Family Day
We designated Saturday to be a family day, but it didn't quite turn out as such. The morning consisted of yard work & house projects...ugh, but we got a lot accomplished, so that felt good. After nap time, we ventured out to Roxborough State Park. It was about 20 minutes away, but when we got there it felt like we were worlds away. We haven't been to Garden of the Gods down in Colorado Springs yet, but we've seen pictures. This park seemed like a mini Garden of the Gods with all the red rock outcroppings.

The hike we went on was perfect...taking us to two 'lookouts' that provided awesome views of the rocks. We also ran into a deer about 20 feet from us on the trail, which was probably Megan's favorite part. On our drive home, we swung by Wendy's for some fine food and at dinner ate a park in town. The whole family hit the playground after we ate. My favorite part was having Tanya sit in this seat that seems to self-propel itself in a non-stop spinning motion. Once I got her going, she had no way to stop. Am I cruel to find such humor in situations like that??

  1. Is that the park by the library? I remember that thing...I could only handle it for about 3 seconds!!
