Dorothy's New Friend

Dorothy's New Friend
A short while back, I told you we mysteriously lost Grumpy, our white koi fish. Even though she's saddened by the loss, Dorothy does have another friend that comes to visit her every evening. Silly, our massive frog comes out of the bushes each night for a dip in the pond. His body is easily the size of my palm...and when outstretched, he's got to be a foot long. Apparently, he's been around for years as the previous owners of our house warned us about him. They told us that he would be very skittish and dive for cover if you came within 10 feet of him. We think he must like us, because he is much more tame than that. He lets us get quite close before he torpedoes to the bottom.

So how did he get the name Silly? Megan, of course. Here's the path we took to the name:

Dad: 'Megan, can you come up with a name for our frog?'

Megan: 'Turtle.'

Dad: 'Turtle the frog? Hmmm...How about a different name?'

Megan: 'Water.'

Dad: 'Water the frog? Hmmm...Let's try again, this time a real name, not what he lives in.'

Megan: 'Zoe.'

Dad: 'Zoe the frog? We can't name him after your sister!'

Megan: 'That's silly. Silly!'

Dad: 'Silly the frog? Perfect.'

  3. You need to teach MeMe that every frog might have the opportunity to become a prince. Seriously, check out Charles and then SIlly!
