Megan's Daytimer

Megan's Daytimer
Two Fridays ago, I talked about good ideas that backfired. Today, we're moving on to good ideas that have stayed good ideas. This is Megan's calendar. I realized that even 3 year olds seem to have quite busy lives. Megan was always asking when certain things were going to happen. For example, if Nana was coming to visit, it was difficult for Megan to comprehend when we'd tell her that she was coming in four days.

Now enters Megan's calendar. Each morning she moves the sun (aka smiley face) to the new day. Each week we fill it with things she has going on. Now she knows exactly what is going down each day. Some things are up there all the time (swim lessons, preschool & church), and then the fun comes when we add special things like: Uncle Steve's visit on Wednesday and Cade & Spencers visit on Sunday! Megan will often draw her own pictures of the events and stick'em up there.

  4. Speaking of great teachers... if you replace the happy face with a sun, clouds, rain, snow, wind... you can turn it into a weather activity too.
