When the rain broke we rushed down to Chase Palm Park (in Santa Barbara) to get some time in at the playground. Zoe went staight for some other kids sand toys while Megan went climbing on the structure. By the time Megan was interested in the sand, the girl (about 5 yrs old) who owned the toys came over and grabbed them out of Megan's hands saying 'you can't play with these' accompanied by a scowled face. Apparently this struck an emotional chord with Megan and she burst out in an uncontrollable cry, all the while clinging for dear life to the shovel that the girl didn't manage to get. It was sad to see but I couldn't help but laugh a bit. I did want to pull that little sassy girl aside and have a talk with her but thankfully her mother did the job. It's funny how protective you get when someone is rude to your kid. (Posted by Tanya)
