Next stop on our North Shore adventure was the Annisquam Lighthouse. This is where I proposed to Tanya over 13 years ago! After scheming for weeks, involving a few friends and the Gloucester Coast Guard chief, my plan was launch one spring day. The Coast Guard chief invited us into the lighthouse for a impromptu tour. We climbed the spiral staircase and learned everything thing there was to learn about the light/lens at the top. Chief Tom then allowed us to have a few minutes outside on the catwalk. Perfect. The question was popped and accepted.
The girls really enjoyed hanging out here and could understand the significance. There were more rocks to climb and a small beach to play on, so they collected several pounds of shells that made the trek back up to New Hampshire with us.
Aww! How sweet! We still have the lighthouse ornaments from your wedding. I hang them on the tree every year.
