It's that time of year again for our trek to the mountains to see the changing aspen leaves. Our busy weekends this month left us with Saturday afternoon as the only time to go. Normally, I have a route all planned out, but this year was a little different. I picked a general area (the Peak to Peak Highway towards Nederland), but thought it would be fun to get spontaneous and find some random county or forest service roads to venture down.
We were about a week early as we probably saw more green leaves than yellow. Next weekend will be peak for sure. But we did manage to find some beautiful spots and create a fun adventure that we'll share more about tomorrow.
