My solo hikes...
Each day I took off for an hour or so and attempted to climb the rock mountains behind our campsite. From the moment we arrived, those peaks were just poking & prodding at my sense of adventure. There were no trails, so I had to make my own in order to reach their summits.

The peak you see in front of you was what I climbed on Saturday morning. It looks more intimidating than it was to climb. Now the peak I climbed to take this picture was another story. I did have a brief moment where I feared for my life as I got a little stuck on the side of a rock about 20 feet off the ground. As you can see, I made it to the top safe & sound.

  1. no cell phone reception and a long dirt road to get to the camp ground. I don't like you hiking craggy mountains alone. I'm just saying.

  2. amen rachael, amen - what went through my mind was, does Woody know how important you are? Galen was a daredevil also - but then again do you know how scarey an outlet mall is on a holiday weekend?

  4. Thanks for your concern. While it was a little sketchy, it wasn't that bad. I probably shouldn't have said that I feared for my life!
