I tried to practice my action photography over the weekend and catch some ducks performing their smooth, gliding water landing on the pond. It didn't quite work out as I had planned, but I did catch them overhead just before their final descent!
I'm quite fascinated by ducks these days, so you may be seeing more pictures in the future. I think I've narrowed it down to the fact that I admired Tanya's Dad for being such a waterfowl enthusiast. He was a Ducks Unlimited member and hunted them, but also had a strong appreciation for their beauty...and a little bit of that rubbed off on me.
With that said, you probably won't be seeing me take aim at one with a shotgun...I'll stick with aiming the camera for now.
I think thse are geese.
ReplyDeleteIf their wings flap fast its a duck, slow its a goose.
ReplyDeleteHere is my second bit of wisdom for the day. If it walks like a duck, flys like a duck, quaks like a duck - its a duck. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the shot of the one on the lift. It's rare that I stop to look at them!
