I've done a fair amount of hiking over the years, but the one we took my parents on last week was a doozie. You may be able to figure out why just by looking at the picture.
The hike in the HR Backcountry was about 2.5 miles and relatively flat. The problem came when about two minutes in, Zoe refused to walk and then feel asleep in my arms almost immediately. Let's just say it's not too fun to carry 35 lbs of dead weight for over two miles.
Megan was getting a little weary too, but at the halfway point, I tossed out the incentive of ice cream from Red Rooster Creamery if she were to make it back to the car without whining! It worked!
