New Spin on Old Game...
After checkin' out the John Deere, Megan wanted to play a game. A few weeks ago, we had a family game of "Duck, Duck, Goose" at the field.

I had a feeling that was the game Megan wanted to play again. It was.

The problem we had was obvious (at least to me). To play "Duck, Duck, Goose", you need more than two players. I explained this to Megan, but she wouldn't listen my excuses. She had her mind set on playing and explained to me how it was going to work with just the two of us. There she sat as I walked in circles around her...tapping her on the head.

When I yelled "Goose", she would chase me around the field until I sat down. Then it was her turn. Believe it or not, it was actually quite enjoyable. It was like turning the handle of a jack-in-the-box. You know it's gonna spring, but it's just a matter of when.

  1. My head turned a few years ago when our kids talked about playing, "duck, duck, gray duck." GRAY DUCK???...it's GOOSE!!! It appears to be a Minnesota aberration. Has anyone else heard of that? Oh well, I need to go back and finish supper, don'tchyaknow.

  2. Can't say I've ever heard of that version of the game. It's so much fun yelling out "Goose"...but yelling "Gray Duck"...just doesn't have the same wow factor. Hmmmm...two guys in their 30's discussing the finer points of Duck, Duck Goose...I think it's time to talk about sports or grilling or tools!
