Independence Pass

Independence Pass
This is the last post from our final camping trip to Aspen.

That Saturday we decided to take an afternoon drive up Independence Pass and see if the girls would fall asleep. Whenever we "think" they'll fall asleep...they don't. We should have known that.

On the way up the pass, we pulled off the road at a spot several other cars were parked at. Next to the road was a river weaving through some large rocks (similar to Sculptured Rocks in NH). We noticed that 95% of the people there were late teens/early 20's. We soon found out why.

There was a 30 foot ledge that stood above a deep pool in the river. They were all jumping! It was wild and never would I ever have considered doing it. First off...that ledge was high! More importantly...the water they were jumping into was frigid. We hung out there watching with our feet in the water and enjoyed the show.
