Trick or Treating Revisited

Trick or Treating Revisited
Last Monday night was Megan's first experience trick or treating. We decided to cruise to a few houses on our street. Since she doesn't quite understand that the goal is to hit as many houses as possible, we decided to keep it to about 5. She did a great job. Ran to each house, walked right up and rang the doorbell, had to be prompted to say the obligatory 'trick or treat', and then followed it up with a 'thank you'. After each house though, she would say, 'Ok, it's time to go home now.' Hmmmm. We didn't quite understand why she wanted to go home when the opportunity to get more candy was given to her. It wasn't until we finally got home that we realized that the red tootsie pop she received at the very first house had captivated her attention and she thought she needed to be home in order to eat it.

After putting Megan to bed, we checked on her an hour later to find her guarding her stash. I needed a crowbar to loosen her grip on that pumpkin!
